New SBA Study supports the work of Small Businesses

Nussbaum Center has shown job growth for past two quarters

Greensboro – A recently released study conducted by the US Small Business Administration confirms the importance of entrepreneurs. This study, The Small Business Economy, states “during the two past recessions, firms with fewer than 20 employees were the only ones with net job growth.”

The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship recently announced a 10.3% year over year job growth at companies within the business incubator during the 1st quarter of 2009. This growth followed a fourth quarter year over year job growth of 6.1%.

At the time of this announcement, Sam Funchess, President/CEO stated, “Following a year in which over 1 million jobs were lost in the US, this growth highlights the importance of supporting emerging companies. The growth of all entrepreneurial companies is key to the continued economic growth of the Triad, and the Nussbaum Center devotes every available resource towards this goal.”
