Nussbaum President, Sam Funchess, to speak at National Incubation Conference

Sam Funchess will be heading a panel discussion at the National Business Incubator Association (NBIA) Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX the week of May 4. The panel will discuss the importance of measuring the economic impact of a business incubator on its community.

“I am honored to be asked by the NBIA to discuss the economic impact of business incubators. The Nussbaum Center has conducted economic impact studies for the last two years, revealing an average annual revenue of over $140 million by our companies and graduates, as well as tax revenues for the city and county averaging over 4.2 million dollars,” said Mr. Funchess. “We have one goal at the Center, to enhance the economic development of the Triad. The metric to demonstrate this is through job creation, and these economic impact studies have demonstrated our success in this endeavor- over 1300 jobs created according to our 2006 impact study”
“ In speaking to this International audience of Incubator administrators, it is my hope that I can use the accomplishments of the Nussbaum Center as a model for their success.”
